Something that has been bothering me as of late. Not sure why I needed to say this today, but here goes.
This day and age we all are "busy". Work, kids, home, school, I could list a million things. I value my time and that of others. My priorities are that of my kids and family first - always. So when I have a tiny bit of time with friends, I'm committed to the time we have available with no interruptions. Hubby knows where I am and when I will be home, but I have the cell phone with me for an emergency. Which maybe has been a handful of times, usually baby related. But he values his time with the wee ones and my time with my friends, so he rarely interrupts.
So why is that the cell phone, IPhone, Blackberry or whatever has to be put on the table at dinner, or texting has to be done while having a cup of coffee late at night while in my company?! Am I not important to my friends? Is there somewhere else they'd rather be?
This is never a one time thing either and it's really starting to annoy me.
There is too much mulitasking and planning the next week, day or hour these days, to stop and really enjoy the moment. Whatever that may be. When I hear my friends are "frazzled" it's no wonder. You simply can't do EVERYTHING and be good at it all. Things will get missed.
Technology is wonderful and we couldn't live without it. But PLEASE shut it off for an hour!

Denise, you are so right on with this one- I am sick of everyone with these cell phones eek!!! Technology is getting a little too overabundant these days, unfortunately. :( Hope you are enjoying your week, xo!
You go girl! I feel the same way. I won't answer the phone, etc while having dinner or family game night, etc. I do love my iphone but I LOVE MY FAMILY MORE ;-) tee hee!

UGH Yes... I met up with a friend after a yr of not seeing her.. what does she do while we are having coffee anf have not seen each other for that long.. texting! so annoying and rude! Go you!!
I agree with you. No one looks up anymore as they are always looking down at their cell phone, computer texting, etc. Sad. I screen my calls.:) Lori
Boy- I agree!!! The same thing with call waiting- I hate THAT!!! What did we EVER do w/o technology? Maybe spend uninterrupted time with friends? I don't know how to stop it- as it is some people's priority. Frustrating though!

I came over from The pink Front Gate because this is one of my pet peeves, too. I think it's nothing short of rude to take phone calls, do texting, etc while in the company of someone else. You are NOT alone!!
